My family sessions are filled with fun allowing your children to act silly, to play and bring out their true personalities for me to capture for you. I’m a big child with a big imagination so don’t be surprised if we are tip toeing across stepping stones to stay out of the lava or stomping like the Gruffalo! I have two boys and I love to watch their little games, my aim is to capture some intimate moments between you and your children that normally only you see.
The ideal time for your session is when your little one is at their best. As long as they are happy then this is the key to a great adventure! If naps aren’t a problem as your children are older I aim to shoot when the sun is low in the sky so either early morning or late afternoon, evening. Golden hour is the best time to shoot as the light is beautiful and this happens an hour before sunset.
I will either come to you at home or meet you at one fo your favourite locations. If you need some advice on locations I have a lot of places that I love to shoot in.
We will be in touch in the days leading up to your session and if heavy rain is looking likely I am happy reschedule to a better time or move the shoot to an inside location as plan B.
Your love and happiness…and maybe if you have younger children their favourite toy and some of their favourite snacks! If your session is for your newborn baby then I always suggest some light bedding on your bed and some of your favourite muslins/ blankets.
Firstly you need to feel comfortable and like you! I would say to avoid anything too formal as well as very dark heavy clothing, big patterns or stripes. Pastels work well in most scenarios as well as textures and different tones. Depending on your session and location I will advise you with what might be best especially if it is a seasonal session.
